Faffing, the art of and another favourite pass-time in my world

Faffing: to spend your time doing a lot of things that are not important instead of the things that you should be doing. Mmm… not usual for me to contradict the formidable Cambridge Dictionary however on this occasion I must. Faffing: time well spent moving ones precious pretties around to create pleasing focal points of interest. Happy with that?  Me too. Flowers – Vintage and Thrifty Styling for the Home

This week is the fourth part in our mini series Vintage and Thrifty Styling for the Home and today we are looking at Flowers. If you’ve read any of my previous posts you will know by now, I am a thrifty person by nature. I get it from my Grandmother I think, she of the ‘make do and mend’ era. I recall a weekly shopping exercise would involve my Nan walking up and down the local high street, to save a few pence on her washing powder. Plus I’ll also be showing how with a little structure and form to your chosen vase, you too can create a simple and elegant display…

The Shepherds Hut – decorating the inside of beautiful Belle

Happy Thursday everyone! I’ve been so looking forward to sharing this post with you all. Over the past few months you’ve seen many photo’s of the outside of Belle my beautiful Shepherds Hut. And until now, not too many of indoors. As with the renovation of our home, decorating the Shepherds Hut remains a work in progress, although at Belle’s I get to put my stamp all over her. Vintage this and thrifty that, no-one is raising their eyebrows at what is going on over there. So I thought this week you might like a little peek at Belle with her summertime vibe going on, before I start changing things up for Autumn and Christmas. Ready? Let’s go…
